There are 400+ deliveries per year.
We practise team-based care in Chickadee Maternity Collaborative where primary providers, Midwifes, Maternity RN’s and a variety other team members practice evidence-based care within the midwifery model. The maternity unit is small with three delivery rooms. But the team is large, and so are their hearts. We follow MoreOB.

Sioux Lookout, ON

Locum(s) would help provide relief for maternity leave beginning Jan 2024. Opportunities to join a shared practice long term.
Sioux Lookout is situated between Thunder Bay and Winnipeg in the beautiful lake-filled Canadian shield. The town has a population of approximately 5500 people and is the main hub for 31 remote First Nation communities in Northern Ontario.  Many of the northern communities are only accessible by air with populations ranging from 350 to 3500 people. Low to moderate-risk obstetrics is practiced in a very team-based approach. We are searching for an experienced OSS who can help with C-section and D&C call and work with other Family Medicine OB providers to run a dynamic prenatal clinic. Opportunities for ER, Family Med, Hospitalist, and fly-in remote family practice are available as well if you wish to round it out. A variety of scheduling options available, contact Lianne at gerberfinn@gmail.com and see if we can make a shorter or longer locum work for you!
